WHAT’S UP: AI AND THE SKY

Saturday, February 14th, 2026 - Sunday, May 31st, 2026

In the latest version of our flagship live Planetarium show ‘What’s Up?’ we’ll be diving into some of the ways AI is being used to help understand the cosmos.

It’s a BIG Universe out there and, as new instruments, surveys and space missions bring back ever larger amounts of pictures, data and questions, we’re going to need all the help we can get! We’re going to learn how to classify galaxies and search for things going flash in the night. Spring is an amazing time for going stargazing which we’ll do from the comfort of our planetarium. You can even help the astronomers from the comfort of your couch too!

Showing daily from 14th February – 31st May. Take a look at our Planetarium Schedule to find out show times during your visit.
Enjoy this daily Planetarium show as part of your Annual Pass admission, or purchase a Planetarium Only ticket.

This Planetarium show is brought to you as part of the Association for Science and Discovery Centre’s (ASDC) science engagement programme Demystifying AI: a new national, strategic STEM engagement programme created to support young people, families, schools and communities to understand AI in everyday life. Demystifying AI has been created and developed by ASDC, and will feature contributions from a broad range of experts working across key areas in AI, including sustainability, health, agriculture, ethics and the future of science. The programme is supported by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), with project development from Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC, part of UKRI).
