DYNAMITES SCIENCE SESSIONS

Science Storytelling for Hatchlings Under 4

WHAT IS DYNAMITES?

Join Dyna the dinosaur hatchling for Dynamites – a gentle and fun way for children under 4 to begin discovering the world around them. Our weekly 45-minute sessions mix hands-on exploration with imaginative storytelling, helping your little one make sense of the wonders that fill their growing world.

Each week, little explorers get to play, listen and discover alongside our friendly team, all within a safe, welcoming space built for early learning. Together, we’ll wander through big, exciting themes including space, rainforests and, the ocean- all introduced in ways that fit tiny hands, short attention spans, and endlessly curious minds.

If you’re looking for a nurturing way for your child to explore the natural world, book a DynaMites session and watch their curiosity come alive.

DynaMites sessions run on Fridays at 10am.

Dynamites runs every Friday during term time for children aged under 4 years old and an accompanying adult. Grown ups are encouraged to join in the sessions, and explore the wonderful world of science with their little one.

Our friendly Learning and Engagement team will guide you through the session and ensure your child has fun in a safe and nurturing environment. We also have a range of resources to support children with additional needs. If you have any questions, please get in touch with our team at: enquiries@dynamicearth.org.uk

FAQS

What is Dynamites?2024-08-26T14:26:42+01:00

Dynamites is Dynamic Earth’s Under 4’s programme, where little ones and their grown ups can discover and explore the natural world together! Our DynaMites workshops are 1-hour sensory storytelling sessions developed for children under the age of 4. They cover a variety of topics including Dinosaurs, Space and animals.

What do the sessions entail?2024-04-18T11:27:35+01:00

Lead by a friendly member of Dynamic Earth’s Learning & Engagement Team, each Dynamites session is based around a specific theme which you will explore with your little ones through storytelling, show and tell, experiments and crafting. Workshops last 1 hour.

Can I join my child in the session?2025-02-19T09:23:23+00:00

Yes! We encourage all adults to join in with the session and explore with your little one. There are 16 spaces available per DynaMites session, with one ticket admitting both an adult and child.

Are you able to take children over the age of 4?2024-10-21T14:32:20+01:00

Unfortunately not, our DynaMites sessions are specifically designed with under fours in mind. If we learn your child is 5 or over, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the session.

Do you have a child aged 4-6? Take a look at our Dynamos science sessions, interactive storytelling for ages 4-6 every Friday at 2.30pm.

My child has an additional support need, what support can you offer them to make the most of DynaMites?2024-04-18T11:30:26+01:00

We do our very best to create a welcoming and inclusive club for everyone and we ask that parents/guardians make us aware of any additional support needs at the point of booking and get in touch with us directly if there are needs we should be aware of and can potentially make adjustments for.

Whilst our team will do everything we can to support, we cannot offer tailored 1:1 support for children with additional needs and unfortunately, we cannot control factors which some children may find overwhelming as part of the club, such as noise levels from other children.

What will happen on the day?2024-04-18T11:43:11+01:00

We’re so excited to welcome you to DynaMites! When you arrive, we advise that you meet the DynaMites leader on our top deck Stratosphere level, which can by reached by the lift from the car park or by the main entrance to our science centre. Our team leader will take you to our Learning Bases, where the session will be taking place.

If you are attending the session with buggies or prams, lifts are available to use and there is room for you to store your pram in the Learning Base. We also have designated pushchair storage space upstairs on the Stratosphere.

If you’re running late, don’t worry! Please speak to a member of our Visitor Services team on arrival and they will be happy to show you to the Learning Bases.

The session lasts around 45 minutes, but if you are welcome to come and go as you please if you need a bathroom break or your little ones start to get a bit wriggly!

Adults are responsible for their child at all times.

I have a question that isn’t answered above.2025-03-20T16:05:15+00:00

No problem – please get in touch with us at enquiries@dynamicearth.org.uk and one of the team will get back to you as quickly as possible.
