Interactive Science Fun for Little Explorers aged 4-6

WHAT IS DYNAMOS?

Join Dynamo the little dinosaur for our Dynamic Earth science club, a lively learning programme for 4–6 year olds who are ready to explore, investigate, and ask “why?” as they discover the natural world with you by their side.

If your young adventurer loves imagining journeys through rainforests, blasting off into space, or stepping back into the time of the dinosaurs: this is the perfect place for their growing curiosity. Each Dynamos session is packed with storytelling, crafting, sensory play, and hands-on object exploration, centred on a new theme each week.

Every session is led by our expert Dynamic Earth Learning & Engagement Team, creating a fun, supportive space where big questions turn into even bigger discoveries.

Dynamos sessions run on Fridays at 2pm.

Dynamos runs every Friday during term time for children aged between 4-6 years old, and an accompanying adult. Grown ups are encouraged to join in the sessions with their little explorer to find out more about our world together.

Our friendly Learning and Engagement team will guide you through the session and ensure your child has fun in a safe and nurturing environment. BLOCK BOOKING

Block booking now open for term commencing 24th April 2026!

Book a block of sessions in advance for your child to attend every week. Guarantee their place at Dynamos!

Please be aware that this is a booking for 10 set sessions, sessions cannot be chosen individually when block booking. Block booking will close on 12th January.

No refund will be provided for sessions missed within the block booking.

Dynamos is Dynamic Earth’s learning programme for 4-6 year olds, where children and their grown-ups can discover and explore the natural world together! Our Dynamos workshops are 1-hour sensory storytelling sessions developed for children between the ages of 4-6. They cover a variety of topics including Dinosaurs, Space and the Ocean.

What do the sessions entail?2024-10-21T13:50:31+01:00

Led by a friendly member of Dynamic Earth’s Learning & Engagement Team, each Dynamos session is based around a specific theme. This theme will be explored through storytelling, show and tell, experiments and crafting. Each session lasts one hour.

What will happen on the day?2024-10-21T14:00:26+01:00

We’re so excited to welcome you to Dynamos! When you arrive, we advise that you meet the Dynamos leader on our top deck Stratosphere level, which can by reached by the lift from the car park or by the main entrance to our science centre. Our team leader will take you to our Learning Bases, where the session will be taking place.

If you are attending the session with buggies or prams, lifts are available to use and there is room for you to store your pram in the Learning Base. We also have designated pushchair storage space upstairs on the Stratosphere.

If you’re running late, don’t worry! Please speak to a member of our Visitor Experience team on arrival and they will be happy to show you to the Learning Bases.

My child has an additional support need, what support can you offer them to make the most of Dynamos?2024-10-21T14:02:37+01:00

We do our very best to create a welcoming and inclusive club for everyone and we ask that parents/guardians make us aware of any additional support needs at the point of booking and get in touch with us directly if there are needs we should be aware of and can potentially make adjustments for.

Whilst our team will do everything we can to support, we cannot offer tailored 1:1 support for children with additional needs and unfortunately, we cannot control factors which some children may find overwhelming as part of the club, such as noise levels from other children.

Am I able to take children under the age of 4 or over the age of 6?2024-10-21T14:13:38+01:00

Unfortunately children under 4 and over 6 are not able to join in the session, as our Dynamos sessions are specifically designed with 4-6 year olds in mind.

Under 4s are permitted within our Dynamos sessions if they are in the care of the accompanying adult, such as a younger sibling of the 4-6 year old attending the session.

Do you have a child over 6? Take a look at our Dino’s Science Club, immersive experiments and crafts for ages 6-12 every Saturday.

Can I join my child in the session?2025-02-19T09:23:14+00:00

Yes, we encourage all adults to join in the session and explore together! There are 16 spaces available per Dynamos session, with one ticket admitting both an adult and child. However, you are also welcome to pop in and out of the session – our café is open during centre opening hours and our 30 minute Planetarium shows run hourly. If you choose not to join in with the activities, we kindly ask that you do not leave the premises during the session.
