Help us to honour one of Edinburgh’s greatest treasures with something special: the Arthur’s Seat Gallery, a free, accessible new space that will transform how people understand and protect this iconic landscape.
Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage.
Every year, more than half a million people climb Arthur’s Seat – yet few know the fascinating story beneath their feet or the threats this fragile landscape faces from erosion, wildfires, human behaviour and climate change.
Our new Gallery will change that, thanks to a generous grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Through hands on interactives, digital experiences and powerful storytelling, visitors will explore 300 million years of geological history and discover how to care for Holyrood Park for generations to come.
Dynamic Earth’s new Gallery – which will open in early 2027 – is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are creating interactive exhibition materials which will explore the heritage, science and ecology of Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park, helping visitors better understand the remarkable landscape of this important site in the heart of Edinburgh and what they can do to protect it.
However, there is a match-funding requirement: we need to raise a further £80,000 in donations to unlock the National Lottery funding and open the doors of the Gallery. By donating today, your support will directly fund new exhibits, immersive films and engaging interpretation that inspires curiosity, deepens understanding and builds a shared sense of stewardship for this remarkable place that means so much to Edinburgh.
