LEARNING LAB: POWERING THE FUTURE

Learning Lab is a free programme targeted at P5-P7 and S1-S2 that includes a visit to Dynamic Earth.

Explore the future of energy. During this free programme pupils will investigate renewable technologies and the pathway to net zero. Through exciting practical activities, they will discover how their skills could change the world.

Aligned with CfE experiences and outcomes, Learning Lab supports teachers to deliver amazing science in the classroom. With a suggested teaching time of 2 hours per week, this 8-week programme for P5–P7 or 4-week programme for S1-S2 includes:

  • Lesson plans and worksheets
  • Original video content
  • Live interactions with scientists/industry professionals
  • Professional learning session
  • Family learning activities
  • A FREE Dynamic Earth Visit

PRIMARY

Through exciting practical activities, pupils will discover renewable technologies and see that they have the skills needed for a future in the energy industry.

Protect a melting ice cube, run a hydrogen relay race and meet an energy expert!

SECONDARY

Through investigating renewable technologies and the pathway to net zero, pupils will discover opportunities in the energy sector and explore how their skills could change the world.

The content is ideal for encouraging STEM subject choices and supportS third and forth level outcomes in Science, Technology and Social Studies including an opportunity to meet professionals from Scotland’s growing STEM industries.
