ABOUT US

Find out more about Dynamic Earth’s charitable purpose, and how you can support our work.

As the UK’s only science centre dedicated to Earth and environmental sciences, Dynamic Earth’s mission is to empower everyone with understanding and empathy for the Earth. Learn more about our charitable mission, and how your visit with us helps to make a difference to our planet:

THERE ARE FOUR MAIN STRANDS TO OUR WORK:

OUR FAMILY AND PUBLIC PROGRAMME

We bring Earth and environmental science to life for 250,000 people each year, through visits to our Science Centre and Planetarium in Edinburgh.

OUR SCHOOLS PROGRAMME

This programme provides heavily subsidised science learning to 30,000 pupils in person each year, and a further 15,000 online.

OUR COMMUNITIES PROGRAMME

We work with community partners to provide free, inclusive community-led science and learning engagement to 3,000 people per year.

OUR NATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAMME

This programme takes science learning and engagement to 10,000 people per year in remote regions across Scotland.

MAKE A DONATION

BY DONATING TO DYNAMIC EARTH YOU ARE HELPING US TO DELIVER IMMERSIVE, ACCESSIBLE SCIENCE ACTIVITIES RIGHT HERE IN EDINBURGH AND ACROSS SCOTLAND.

However much you can give, your support means the world to us and helps us to deliver year-round activities that ignite a passion for science and build towards a positive future for us and our planet.

You can support us with a one-off or regular donation. Regular gifts make a vital contribution to helping us plan for the future!

THE DIFFERENCE YOU’LL MAKE

By making a donation, you will make a vital contribution to things such as:

  • Facilitating workshops for community groups who face barriers to accessing science learning
  • The development of new learning materials for schools, community, and public workshops and activities
  • Accessibility Toolkits to help those with additional needs to make the most of their visit to Dynamic Earth
  • Regular temporary exhibitions on topics like showcasing role models within STEM careers
